"Smart English was the bridge which lead me to becoming a Petroleum Engineer here in the USA. I started studying at Smart English when it first opened its doors in 1989. Today, I believe it was the best decision I ever made when it comes to 'really' learning English. I managed to pass the TOEFL and to be admitted at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in the USA, where I am today! The method of teaching really brings the best out of you. It is the only school that I know that connects the learning of English with fun activities focusing on real life conversations. That is why my sister and my mom also chose Smart English as their professional career start point! I must thank Smart English for opening the doors to this world full of opportunities."

“In 2001 I decided to study English further and was introduced to Smart English by Tom, one of their staff with whom I had previously had a private lesson. A language school certainly has a crucial role in the learning process. Smart English, in particular, offers multimedia resources, fun learning with creative classes provided by excellent teachers and much more, based on its unique culture, carefully managed by Monica. In 2004 I came to England where I have been living for two years. Though speaking to native speakers of English would be a new challenge, I was already prepared and confident enough to take my first steps in the United Kingdom.”

"Sooner or later you will realize you need to learn English. If you travel abroad, there will always be someone to help you in English. If you like music, there will always be popular songs in English. Are you going to be stuck waiting for that nice translation? Are you going to listen to new songs just because the beat is nice? Are you going to be just an average person? Make it happen! Make the right choices! Be smart and learn English for real! Smart English is not just a choice, that's your chance to make it right!
At Vaga-lume we also develop tools to help you learn English. Some of these tools were inspired by classes I took at Smart English a long time ago, like filling in the blanks inside your favorite song lyrics.

"I really like the fact that you are very flexible about class times, always having one that fits the student´s schedule. The student there is not only a number. The director herself is always watching carefully both the students´ and the teachers´ work."
Rafael Corazza, 25 years old – living in San Francisco, USA
"When I first started taking lessons at Smart English I had a huge challenge and very short time to accomplish it. I had won an American University scholarship, but I had a little more than 3 months to pass the SAT and TOEFL tests. That was not an easy task, facing the fact that I barely spoke English at the time. Always making their best effort, the teachers at Smart English encouraged me throughout the process. I passed both tests, and in 2006 I graduated with a Bachelors in Business from The University of San Francisco. Since then I have been working in America. I believe that the great gameplan and hard work which the Smart English Team put together during that period were key because, more than help me to pass a test, they gave me the knowledge and confidence necessary to succeed in the USA."

Me indicaram o Smart English.
